Munds Mountain Trail No. 77

The Munds Mountain Trail is reached using the Schnebly Hill Trail.

The Schnebly Hill Trail climbs moderately and steadily up the west face of Schnebly Hill following the original alignment of Schnebly Hill Road. There are some magnificent red rock views for the first 0.75 miles which is unshaded. The trail enters partial shade and at 1.25 miles, where the roadbed turns sharply to the left, take the trail on the right which is signed "Munds, Jacks, Hot Loop". It climbs moderately in shade for nearly 0.75 mile, passing through two cattle gates, and emerging on a large, open expanse near Committee Tank.

Schnebly Hill Trail No. 158

The Schnebly Hill Trail climbs moderately and steadily up the west face of Schnebly Hill following the original alignment of Schnebly Hill Road. VULTEE ARCH HIKE

An easy hike along the bottom of Sterling Canyon. The drainage is dry most of the year. Shade is available, but it would be wise to carry some water in the warm months.

The signed trailhead is on the east side of the parking area. The well maintained trail almost immediately enters Wilderness and climbs gradually in the shade of Arizona cypress beside a dry stream bed on the floor of Sterling Canyon. There are occasional views of red rock formations to the left and of the sheer walls of Lost Wilson Mountain on the right. NORTH WILSON #123

Get to know this 11.6-mile out-and-back trail near Sedona, Arizona. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 6 h 18 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are September through May. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Wilson Mountain stands tall at 7,122 feet and was named after Richard Wilson, a bear hunter who was killed by a grizzly in 1885. It is the tallest mountain in the Sedona area and offers an incredible view of Sedona and beyond, including Oak Creek and the San Francisco Peaks.

TUESDAY TRAILS

MYSTIC TRAIL

From the Chapel of the Holy Cross, a short half mile hike down Chapel Road will lead to the Mystic Trailhead on the right side (north) of the road. Public restrooms are located at the base of the Chapel of the Holy Cross parking lot.

Mystic Trail is an easy hike of approximately one mile in length. After this, a subdivision is reached and aone mile hike back to the Broken Arrow parking lot via Highway 179 and Morgan Road.

Mystic Trail starts on Chapel Road. There is limited parking so come early. Do Not Park in the Chapel of the Holy Cross Parking Lot. The trail is a short 0.4 mile hike to the trailhead of Hog Wash Trail.
