AIRPORT LOOP TRAIL

Check out this 3.3-mile loop trail near Sedona, Arizona. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 23 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, running, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

The Airport Loop is a trail that encircles the upper slope of Airport Mesa, also known as Table Top Mountain. It offers both stunning scenery and a challenging terrain, with rocky areas that add to the difficulty. As there is little shade along the way, it's essential to bring sun protection and plenty of water. The trail boasts incredible red rock views, and there are a couple of sections that run alongside beautiful basalt boulders near the mesa's top corner. The trail follows the airport perimeter fence for a short period before descending into a small wash.
