Intermediate Trails and Riders

Soldier Wash

this is a great spot with 100% intermediate trails made for bikes. It was originally a bootleg trail system put together by local writers and has been adopted and made legal by the US Forest Service. Chuck Wagon

This trail, which is perfect for beginners to intermediates, is accessible by the same trail had as Long Canyon. You can wind around the curves on this modern mountain bike trail with a few little obstacles such as exposed to slick rock and some rock steps you have to get over. There are some twisty turns through the pinion forest and you can take the loop counterclockwise making for some beautiful views.

West Sedona Tour

This 13-mile trail is a great complement to the chuckwagon or Long Canyon loop and can be written separately or as part of a full circuit. These trails are about intermediate level and highlight some of the best writing in the West Sedona and Dry Creek area. There are a lot of turns and the trails are generally marked very well.

Trails for Advanced

Cathedral Rock Big Loop

This intermediate and advanced trail is just over 12 miles with an average grade of about 4% and a maxed rate of 23%. It crosses the popular Cathedral Rock Trail, which is for hikers only so pay attention and be courteous to hikers. This is the right to do if you want to do one thing in the Cathedral Rock area. This loop has it all from winding curves to technical rock sections coupling that with great scenery, advanced sections, and beautiful views.

Twin Buttes Loop

This 8 1/2 mile challenging courses a 95% single track with a max grade of just 17%, but there's a good variety of smooth flow on dirt, slick rock, challenging rock drops and several climes. None of the climes or dissents are sustained but there are also no easy sections for very long. However, you'll see some of the Sedona's most scenic trails.
