THINGS TO DO
SEDONA & VERDE VALLEY

To assure Sedona’s sustainability as a natural, spiritual wonder for generations to come, we invite you to join our culture of respect for our environment and way of life by agreeing to these 9 pledge points.

1. The rocks are red and the silence is golden. I vow to respect the natural quiet of Sedona's open spaces and neighborhoods.
2. I will be mindful of Sedona's arid environment by minimizing my water and energy use and I will be extremely careful with fire.
3. I’ll make my own memories, but not my own trails.
4. I won't risk life or limb (human or sapling) for more likes. I won't get killed for a killer photo.
5. When playing outside, I'll be ready for rapid changes in weather and random episodes of magic.
6. Leave No Trace and pack out trash - that includes TP and pup poo!
7. I will discover art in Sedona's galleries rather than making my own. Carving on trees or rocks, stacking stones, or defacing the environment diminishes nature's art.
8. If I can't find a parking spot, I will not invent my own. I will go with the traffic flow, using my turn signal often and my car horn seldom.
9. I’ll be caring and considerate wherever I go, because that's the Sedona way.

Sedona Mountain Bike Festival

March 8th - 10th 2024

The Sedona Mountain Bike Festival is a three-day mountain bike celebration that includes a main Expo/festival, bike demos, shuttles, etc.
The Sedona Mountain Bike Festival is a three-day mountain bike celebration that includes a main Expo/Festival, bike demos, shuttled rides, gear vendors, a beer garden, great bands, food trucks, skills clinics and a whole lotta sweet RED SINGLETRACK!
With over 90 vendors there are more demo bikes and more to do than any other bike demo out there. We are always working to make the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival the best event you go to all year. While the core of the event and the vibe will remain the same as previous years, we do have some tricks up our sleeve for this year. Check back for exciting announcements as we get them.
The mountain biking in Sedona is world class. Sedona has over 250 miles of killer singletrack and is a media darling having appeared in magazines countless times in the last few years. Simply put: it’s a bucket list destination and this might just be the best way to come see for yourself.
When is it?
March 8th -10th, 2024
Trail guidelines
The trail system within the Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest around Sedona, AZ is one of the most special resources you’ll find anywhere. This is a trail system shared with hikers and equestrians, and our goal with this festival is to celebrate it appropriately: respect the resource, respect other trail users and generally leave a great impression of the mountain bike community which means NOT leaving our physical impression!! Everybody be smart, stay on legal system trails and let’s show the world what the mountain bike vibe is all about!!!
See what others are saying
Beta Mag: “Food trucks, beer tents and a full line-up of mountain bike films put an exclamation point on the Saturday program at the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival”
The Radavist: “The mountain biking in Sedona is exceptional. Full stop. Seemingly endless trail systems spiderweb right out from the center of town, winding in, out, and around…”
Outside Magazine : “It felt like the festival was making people happier than any new bike, piece of gear, or single ride ever could.”
MTBR : “Great weather, amazing trails, and most bikes of any consumer demo event.”
Bike Magazine : “On top of being a demo event, the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival is a place to walk the gravel and look at what new goodies the exhibiting brands have to offer.”
Velo News : “A handful of companies got the jump on the rest by announcing their new goodies at the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival in Arizona this past weekend.”
“Great bike selections and lots of it too! It really rivaled better than dirt demo at Interbike. Music and beer and a good selection of food trucks! Lots of new vendors with great swag giveaways too! Best part is it’s open to the public unlike interbike!” – Facebook Reviewer
“Great event! Everything was well organized and there were so many demos to choose from. Next year we will spend the weekend!” – Attendee

Sedona Yoga Festival 2024

March 14 - 17

The biggest question of our time just might be “What does Unity look like?” Spanning in-person connection, video connection, text connection, and phone connection, there are plenty of ways for us to come together and explore what it means to be in a shared or unified space. And yet while technology has brought us closer together across the globe, we are still facing so much division internationally, intra-nationally, and societally. The theme for SYF2024, All Together Now, asks us to ruminate on this: Despite being more “connected” than ever, our world is still largely defined by what separates us. How does Yoga help?

This day-long clinic will start at the Sedona Bike Park where we will thoroughly review correct body position on uphills, the different types of climbing, and wheel lifts.
Delicious Lunch Options:
A catered boxed lunch alongside the SMBA staff for an hour is an opportunity to connect on the clinic’s content or chat general mtb tips&tricks.
Afternoon Trail Session:
Our afternoon session will exclusively be on Sedona’s trails, seeking out iconic climbs and alternative lines known by the local SMBA staff.
This clinic is tailored for riders who identify as strong beginners through strong intermediates. The group size will be small, ensuring plenty of individualized feedback for each participant.

Tlaquepaque

Your unforgettable Sedona experience must include spending time at internationally renowned Tlaquepaque (pronounced T-la-keh-pah-keh), Sedona Arizona's Arts & Crafts Village, on of the best things to do in Sedona. Nestled beneath the shade of the sycamores on the banks of beautiful Oak Creek in Sedona, Tlaquepaque is the most distinctive Sedona shopping experience to be found in the Southwest. Authentically fashioned after a traditional Mexican village, Tlaquepaque, meaning the "best of everything," has been a Sedona landmark since the 1970's. Its vine covered stucco walls, cobble-stoned walkways and magnificent arched entryways give you the feeling that Tlaquepaque has been here for centuries. Tasteful galleries and unique shops live in harmony with its lush natural environment where giant sycamore trees stand in testimony to the care taken in preserving the timeless beauty of the Tlaquepaque grounds. It would be hard to find more beautiful surroundings anywhere to create a shopping experience like no other.

Canoe and Kayak Launch:

White Bridge Located across from the Verde Ranger Station on Highway 260, this site has picnic facilities and is the most popular boat launch for float trips to Beasley Flat.

Beasley Flat This site marks the beginning of the Wild & Scenic stretch of the Verde River which is recommended only for experienced boaters.  Float trips take out here, and there are picnic facilities and a nature trail.

Clear Creek  Though boaters can put in or take out here, this is not a very good boat launch.  The access to the river is steep and slippery, and parking is limited.

Fishing in the Verde Valley

Oak Creek is one of Arizona's most beautiful classic trout streams. Lush vegetation and gorgeous scenery backdrop an incredible fishery flowing downstream through a deep canyon gorge. The stream is stocked year round with Rainbow trout, but is also home to some beautiful carry-over and wild Rainbows, as well as some big wary wild Brown Trout that date back to the early 1900's and Zane Grey. If you're looking for the most beautiful place to fly fish in Arizona, this is it!.

The Verde River is one of Arizona's only two Wild and Scenic Rivers, yet it remains relatively undiscovered as a recreational resource. That doesn't mean this clear desert stream has little to offer. It's an excellent place to fish for a number of species including trout, which the Arizona Game and Fish Department has begun stocking on a put and take basis. The Verde is also becoming more and more popular for recreational boating. Some stretches provide scenic canoeing among long pools and manageable riffles. Other sections become exciting whitewater runs during the spring snowmelt or after late summer thunderstorms.
