Where to Live in Sedona?

Sedona is a beautiful place to visit but what’s it like to really live there?

Just two hours North of Phoenix, Sedona is a great place to visit and take in the sights and living there is not much different. With local clinics, markets, farmers markets, major department stores less than 30 minutes away and beautiful ski resorts just 45 minutes away and Flagstaff, Sedona makes a great central location that’s perfect for the outdoorsy, environmentally friendly person that’s looking for a little more open space.

Sedona is one of the more affluent communities in Arizona but there are several condominium and townhome neighborhoods as well with prices starting at just $180,000. Many folks to Sedona as a second home or vacation residents perfect for snowbirds relocating in the wintertime from colder climates.

Sedona offer several villages and communities such as the Village of Oak Creek which provides homes, golf course residences and condos as well as communities such as Cottonwood and Cornville. Sedona makes an ideal spot for golf retirees since there are beautiful luxury homes and golf residences right on the course.

Cottonwood is located about 25 minutes or 19 miles Southwest of Sedona and is home to about 11,000 residents. Home prices start at about $200,000 with luxury estates over $500,000. Cornville is located just east of Cottonwood and about 25 minutes or 20 miles southwest of downtown Sedona. This is a beautiful community with newer Adobe homes starting at around $250,000. There’s also some gorgeous luxury properties in page Springs for $1 million and more.

The Village of Oak Creek is located just a couple miles south of downtown Sedona and is home to roughly 5000 residents. It’s also known as Big Park which is considered a bedroom community for Sedona. This is home to a lot of retirees and second homeowners set amongst scenic red rock Hills and canyons.

Other communities include Lake Montezuma and Rimrock, which provide beautiful adobes and manufactured homes in amongst the red rocks of Sedona.

The city of Sedona has roughly 10,000 year-round residents with a quarter of the population being over 65 years old. The median cost of housing starts at about $250,000 with median household income and about $45,000.
