Time for Green in the Land of the Red Rock

It's that time of year again. It's time for Sedona's 44th annual St. Patrick's Parade and Festival.  On Saturday, March 15th this free community event will begin at 10:30a.m. The parade kicks off the day and is immediately followed by the festival. Time for Green in the Land of the Red Rock

The parade route begins at Jordan Historical Park and makes its way along Jordan Road to Mesquite Avenue. You're invited to bring your chairs early and set up along the parade route. If you'd like to be near the Master of Ceremonies and the parade judges, they'll be located along Jordan Road near the corner of Mesquite Avenue.

Congresswoman, Ann Kirkpatrick is the Parade Grand Marshall this year! Various entries in the the parade include dignitaries, color guards, bagpipers, bands, dance troupes, businesses, and local, social, cultural, civic and religious organizations from not just Sedona, but all across Northern Arizona.  You will see entries make their way across the parade route via foot, horseback or different kinds of vehicles.

Immediately following the parade will be the festival that continues until 3:00p.m. Feel free to stay and thoroughly enjoy ALL the festivities! The festival will be hard to miss as it's located near the end of the parade route on Apple Avenue between Cedar Street and Jordan Rd. Just follow the people all decked out in green! At  the festival, you'll enjoy live music and a ton of family and children's activities that will be available.  All activities are free of charge so leave your pot of gold at home! Of course, however, there will be refreshments available, so maybe just a wee bit of gold, laddy, will suffice to take advantage of a beer garden, food booth and a sweet treats booth!

The St. Patrick's Day festivities are presented by Sedona Main Street Program with the Sedona Green Team and NAU Special Events Planning Class.
